1. Things that i liked about the class is my partner he was a cool, chill, and funny partner to have this first semester. He thought somethings i didn't know about the computer. Another thing i liked about this class is that its pretty cool to have this class.

Health Sciences Librarian

Thanksgiving 

This year in November 2016, thanksgiving is on 24th. Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in Canada and the United States. It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, it has long been celebrated in a secular manner as well. A history behind Thanksgiving, Prayers of thanks and special thanksgiving ceremonies are common among almost all religions after harvests and at other times. The Thanksgiving holiday's history in North America is rooted in English traditions dating from the Protestant Reformation. It also has aspects of a harvest festival, even though the harvest in New England occurs well before the late-November date on which the modern Thanksgiving holiday is celebrated

In the English tradition, days of thanksgiving and special thanksgiving religious services became important during the English Reformation in the reign of Henry VIII and in reaction to the large number of religious holidays on the Catholic calendar. Before 1536 there were 95 Church holidays, plus 52 Sundays, when people were required to attend church and forego work and sometimes pay for expensive celebrations. The 1536 reforms reduced the number of Church holidays to 27, but some Puritans wished to completely eliminate all Church holidays, including Christmas and Easter. The holidays were to be replaced by specially called Days of Fasting or Days of Thanksgiving, in response to events that the Puritans viewed as acts of special providence. 6)  Don’t forget to acknowledge the soldiers who served our country but didn’t fight in a foreign war.  For instance, though my father didn’t fight in Vietnam, I’m very proud that he served in the National Guard during that time.  He provided disaster relief support, kept peace at protests, and even guarded President Harry S. Truman’s grave when he was laid to rest.  Soldiers who do not fight in a foreign war are often given less attention, but are just as worthy of our praise and appreciation.

Homecoming

Columbus Day

Famed Italian explorer Columbus discovered the “New World” of the Americans on an expedition sponsored by King Ferdinand of Spain in 1492

Synopsis: Explorer and navigator Christopher Columbus was born in 1451 in the Republic of Genoa, Italy. His first voyage into the Atlantic Ocean in 1476 nearly cost him his life. Columbus participated in several other expeditions to Africa. 1492, Columbus left Spain in the Santa Maria, with the Pinta and the Niña along side. He has been credited for opening up the Americas to European colonization.

Early Voyages

Explorer and navigator Columbus was born in 1451, in the Republic of Genoa (Italy) to the son of a weaver. Columbus first went to sea as a teenager, participating in several trading voyages in the Mediterranean and Aegean seas. One such voyage, to the island of Khios, in modern day Greece, brought him the closest he would come to Asia.

His first voyage into the Atlantic Ocean in 1476 nearly cost him his life as the commercial fleet he was sailing with was attacked by French privateers off the coast of Portugal. His ship was burned and Columbus had to swim to the Portuguese shore and make his way to Lisbon, Portugal, where he eventually settled and married Felipa Perestrello. The couple had one son, Diego in about 1480. His wife died soon after and Columbus moved to Spain. He had a second son Fernando who was born out of wedlock in 1488 with Beatriz Enriquez de Arana.

Reflection: My thoughts are that he  had a voyage the next year.

Demand need for this profession: Ear, Nose, and throat specialist must at least five years of training in a surgical residency. This comprises a one-year course in general surgery and a four-year course in otolaryngology. Most start their medical education with a bachelor of science degree , but those with a bachelor of arts degree  are also accepted into some medical school programs.

Students wishing to start their career as otolaryngologist could study advanced science and math while in high school. Not all medical institutes require a bachelor`s degree for admission. After residency, candidates can choose to purpose an advance subspecialty fellowship that lasts from one to two years. 

Reflection: No, wont be a otolaryngology in my opinion its gross to me seeing other peoples ears.

 I believe this quote means that being obedient will take you down the right path. Being obedient means choosing the right. By choosing the right you are never choosing the wrong, because choosing the right is always right. Being obedient will bring happiness because you will be choosing the right and choosing the right only brings good karma. If you are not obedient you are choosing the wrong which will bring only bad karma it will NEVER bring good karma. Bad karma makes someone feel sad and stuff while good karma brings good to someone and happiness. Obedience shows how great of a person you are by your obedience people can categorize you as either good or bad. Therefore, obedience is important to not only you but to others around you as well. Your choices will prove if you are an obedient person and CTR person so always make sure too really think about you choice before you act on it because it can be something you make regret later.Also what this means is that happiness doesnt come from what you do, its what you have and love. AL

Students from the classes of 2006 through 2014 who completed all graduation requirements and coursework and attended school through the 12th grade but did not pass one or both sections of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) may be eligible for a high school diploma. A new State law– Senate Bill 172 signed by Governor Brown on Oct. 7, 2015– allows you to get your diploma if you passed all of the graduation requirements of your graduating class, but did not pass CAHSEE. LAUSD cannot issue diplomas until the law goes into effect in January 2016.
